Garden 2011

This year we decided to go with Square Foot Gardening. So Alicia and I have been researching and preparing all winter. We have half of the boxed made up. We were trying to use just recycled wood but we have run out. So we may have to buy brand new wood to finish up the rest. We have 6 trays of 72 each full of seeds started. We also have a bunch of potatoes started as well. We are trying to use Mel's Mix which is one third compost, one third peat moss, and one third Vermiculite. But around here Vermiculite is expensive. $20 for 4 cubic feet. Anyway here are some pics of the seed trays, potatoes, and Mel's Mix.

What goes into Mel's Mix.

Developing a two tier system for more plants.

Miracle garlic that grew in a baggie over the winter.

Seed potatoes covered in dirt.

Weird fuzzy white mold? that is growing in every tray.
Broccoli
Onions in the front and peas in the back.
